Fall Game and Tournament Schedules

The first weekend for games to be scheduled is AUGUST 25. The last weekend for games to be scheduled is OCTOBER 28. CSA dictates this schedule. MRL games actually begin August 18 but we have requested no games on that weekend.

AUSC plans to send teams to the following tournaments:

October 6/7         RFVSC @ Crown Mountain

October 27/28   CSA Cup @  Grand Junction

Your child should be available to play on all weekends April 7-27. Please see our new attendance policy (below).

Practice, Game and Tournament Schedule Information

Tentative Practice Schedules may be available when registration opens but are subject to change due to field availability and coaches' schedules.

Firm practice schedules will not be available until the end of August in the Fall season and the beginning of March in the Spring season.

  • U10's practice twice a week for 75 minutes each session
  • U12's practice three times a week for 90 minutes each session
  • U15's and U19's practice three times a week for 90 minutes each session

Game schedules will not be available until mid March. All teams will play a total of 8 games - four home games and four away games. Games begin on April 7. Players are expected to attend all 8 games.

Game schedules are determined entirely by CSA. We can (and do) provide special requests that suit our school's calendar for vacations, outdoor ed programs, etc (which are different from the majority of the schools and school districts that comprise the Mountain Region League) but CSA makes all final decisions on game schedules -- which includes the start and end dates of the season for all games.

All AUSC teams are expected to participate in at least one tournament.

Our team managers do their best to reschedule games to accommodate our unique school calendars. However, those requests should be limited to school calendar conflicts. Parents should not ask managers to reschedule games because of personal commitments and conflicts or other sport and activity conflicts.

Registration fees are NON REFUNDABLE except in the case of relocation and season ending injuries (if a player plays at least two thirds of the season when they become injured, there will be no refund). You must provide the club with documented information from a medical doctor regarding season ending-injuries.

If you feel you have an extenuating circumstance (unrelated to relocation or season-ending injury) requiring a refund, please email us info@aspenunitedsoccer.org for a review of your circumstances by the AUSC Board of Directors.

**Practice players do not compete in games. Practice players only attend practices.

Team Commitment Agreement and Attendance Policy

Upon registering your child for any AUSC teams, you will be asked to accept the following agreement:

I understand that by registering my player for the AUSC soccer program my child is committed to attend all practices and games which includes travel to any of the other Mountain Region and All State League soccer club locations (which may be located outside of the Roaring Fork Valley). The quality of experience and success of teams in AUSC is dependent on the full participation from all players. The inability to attend all practices and games may, at the coach's discretion, jeopardize a players' playing time and status on the team.

Families should be prepared to transport their children to all practices and all 8 games. Game absences should be limited to one game per season and only in the event of extenuating circumstances. Our teams cannot effectively field teams and compete when players do not routinely attend practices and play in all games. If your child cannot commit to play in 8 games, you should reconsider whether he/she can play soccer this season. Any players who do not routinely attend practice and have missed more than one game will be subject to diminished playing time during the games he/she does attend (at the discretion of the team coach).

Team Options and Colorado Soccer Association

Aspen United Soccer Club teams currently play in two different leagues offered through Colorado Soccer Association (CSA). Typically, all teams in both leagues play eight games. Games can begin as early as August 26 and can go as late as November 12. Each team has a total of 8 games. Four are away and four are home. All teams in both leagues will be expected to play in at least one tournament during the season. Some teams play in two tournaments. There is an additional cost associated with playing in tournaments.

Mountain Region League (MRL)

The majority of our teams compete in the MRL. MRL consists of teams located in the Roaring Fork Valley and the Western Slope. Travel to the four away games can included trips to locations such as Telluride and Steamboat.

MRL provides competition in two different levels of play for each age group.

Premier Division: This introductory level of competitive play is designed for those who want to develop their skills though better competition. Players are selected based on ability and skill level. Teams who participate in this division require more commitment with regard to traveling for games, a more demanding practice schedule, tournament schedules and expenses. This division will have promotion and relegation between fall and spring. Teams will be selected through application process ** Certified Referees Only

Developmental Division: This division is designed for players who enjoy the sport for the social aspect of the game while developing their skills through practice and games. Teams are formed through assignment of all interested participants to a team. Travel will be required. Teams are encouraged to participate in tournaments.

Advanced State League

CSA Competitive leagues are composed of advanced teams participating at higher levels of competition. Teams who participate in this division require the most commitment with regard to traveling for games, a more demanding practice schedule, tournament schedules and expenses. All teams will have 8 games. Four games are away and four games are away. Away games are usually at locations in Denver and the Front Range Within the Advanced League, there are three leagues with varying levels of competition: Colorado Champions League, Centennial League, and the Secondary League.

The Colorado Champions League is an application-based league, the Advanced League Operations Committee determines placement.

The Centennial League is comprised of teams that are placed by their clubs' recommendation.

The Secondary League is a league for 8th graders who lose their teammates to the high school season, due to their age based on the new US Soccer birth year mandates.

Miscellaneous Registration Information

Registration Fees have increased this year to reflect the need to adequately cover the costs to efficiently run our club.  Unlike other clubs, AUSC pays to have licensed coaches and subsidizes referee pay beyond what the state offers. We also employ a part-time Director of Coaching and a part-time Club Manager.

Team placement is based on Player Assessments and is made at the discretion of the Director of Coaching and coaches collectively. If there are too many players signed up for one team and not enough for two teams your child may be designated as practice player at a the reduced practice player price. This placement will not be determined by the order in which you register but by player assessment made by the Director of Coaching. If you refuse this option prior to the start of league play, a full refund will be given minus processing feesAspen United also reserves the right to refund any registered but not rostered travel team player.

All questions regarding team placement should be directed to the Director of Coaching.

Soccer is a team sport. Attendance at practices and games affects the experience for all of the players on the team. Any player unable to fulfill his/her participation responsibilities may not be able to participate in the travel league. Any participant who does not have consistent game and practice attendance (even if it because of commitments to another sport or activity), jeopardizes their playing time.

Registration fees include:

•     Salary for part-time Club Manager

•   Salary for part-time Director of Coaching

•   Stipends for Licensed Coaches

•    Practice and Game field Usage Fees and maintenance

     Colorado Soccer Association Fees
